OPEN MINDS
December 2024
Succe
Sprint to
AARN
Dear Readers,
As the Australian poet poignantly said, “The more it goes, the more it’s
gone, the more it takes away.”
These words resonate deeply as I sit to
pen my reections at the close of this month, and indeed, the year.
December, with its frosty breath, cradles the countless memories of the
preceding months, serving as both a time for introspection and
celebration.
The nal month of the year, though rigorous in its demands, was imbued
with boundless energy and purpose. The students of Open Minds rose to
the occasion, devoting themselves tirelessly to the meticulous practice
sessions that culminated in exceptional performances during our Annual
Sports Meet 2024. Be it the synchronised mass drills, the spirited parade,
or the electrifying synergy displayed on the sports eld, their efforts
were nothing short of commendable.
This year, the students had the unparalleled honour of performing in the
esteemed presence of Abhayanand Sir and Padma Shri Dr R. N. Singh.
Their encouragement added an extra layer of motivation to the event,
encapsulated in our theme: Eduletics with Open Minds – Sprint to
Success.
The sheer radiance on the students’ faces as they proudly donned their
medals outshone even the winter sun. The games organised for parents
brought a wave of nostalgia, seemingly transporting them back to the
carefree days of their childhood. Their joyous participation and cheering
smiles spoke volumes of the collective spirit shared that day.
The eloquence of the commentators and the poised condence of the
anchors aligned seamlessly with this year’s overarching theme:
Cultivating Communicative Prociency.
However, it was the parade
that stood as the crowning jewel of the event. A true testament to the
discipline and ethos that dene Open Minds, it left an indelible
impression on all who witnessed it.
As I extend this message, on behalf of the entire Open Minds fraternity, I
wish my readers a joyous and prosperous New Year. May it be a year
lled with growth, success, and cherished moments.
Warm regards,
A. Awasthi

Learning is not limited to
words or books. Nature and
the world teach us many
things which are beyond
those traditional means of
learning. Little kids need to
be exposed to different
places and environments.
Therefore, excursions do
play a very important role
in their schooling career.

they landed on the park. In
no time the park was filled

laughter of the toddlers.

Pre-Board Exam-2024
As the students zero in on the board examinations 2024, the
temperatures get soaring on the preparation pitch. No matter
what the subject is, no one can be sure he or she has covered
everything. Therefore, nervousness gleams on the foreheads in
the form of sweat drops. Students forget when to eat and when to
relax, and to further tone up their preparations. Pre-boards were
there challenging them to prove themselves on the touchstone
on written exams.
Many, who had dedicated their all to studies, were smiling after
writing the papers. Their countenance beamed the confidence
they had achieved having faced the challenge successfully. On
the other hand, the ones who were unsure of their efforts came to
know where they need to do up. Thus, Preboard 1 was a
benefitting experience for all the grade 10 and 12 students in one
way or another. Let's have a glimpse of this event in our campus
through these images…

Assemblies
December had a wonderful event in waiting –
that was the Annual Sports Meet 24. The air
was charged with a new kind of spirit. The
hearts throbbed faster as the dooms day
neared. Massive practice sessions were
planned and organized. So naturally, the
assemblies this month – whether by teachers or
students – centred around topics related to
sports, games and sportsmanship. The
purpose was to instill in students the energy,
spirit and the leadership qualities sports
cultivate in us. The students took the
opportunity to brainstorm, research, plan and
deliver orally from the podium. Their
enthusiasm was infectious, their faces beamed
with a new-found zeal to excel in anything
they have to do or that comes their way. The
beautiful stories, anecdotes and instances
marked all the major performances that lined
up this month. It is interesting to have a look at
these little yet wonderful events…

“Victory is not achieved by making the fewest mistakes, but by learning from the mistakes made.”
Beyond the shadow of doubt, the tapestry of life is very intricate to understand, but this quote truly
resonates with what it is called to be the art of sportsmanship.
Every sport has that potential to force a child to overcome every bottleneck obstructing its way to victory
and further unveil the best version of themselves. Hence, the “Annual Sports Meet 2024 – Eduletics with
Open Minds: Sprint to Success” attained that version of radiating excellence in students, and moreover,
unleash the true qualities of perseverance and endurance within them. This sporting event contained an
orchestra of different enthralling events such as mass drill, shloka recitation, indoor games, cricket and
many more. This multitude of events pulsated with energy, bringing to life resilience, determination and
brilliance of every participant. From every aspect, whether it was winning or learning a lesson, this sports
meet had a lot to teach.
Therefore, in the midst of the melodious days of December, Eduletics collaborated with Open Minds
Kankarbagh evoking the vision of conquering oneself through this Annual Sports Meet 2024.

“Education is a shared commitment between teachers and parents.”

The Post-midterm exams being over, it is the time for parents to meet the teachers of their wards. In
subsequence, the PTM's followed and the campus was lled with little shiny faces with hand in hand with
their parents. Some were happy and celebrating it like a festival, while many were scared teachers might lodge
certain complaints to their moms and dads regarding their naughty conducts. The decorated corridors and
classes aided to the overall charm of the occasion.
Such PTM's create a wonderful opportunity of interaction as guardians talk on many aspects of their children's
developments, their overall growth. Have a glimpse…

"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
Our school believes in sticking to our roots. Therefore, on 24 December every year the proud family of
OMK gets together to pay its humble tributes to Maa Sharda on her remembrance day. This day
establishes its signicance through its enchanting aura and the abundance of blessings we receive from
her divine being as we assemble in her memorial hall for the prayer session, and paying oral tribute to her
portrait. Her calm persona still reects from her image on the canvas. A mother is the root of this entire
creation, and by offering our homage to her we accept our indebtedness to the universal power of
compassion, love and creation. Let's have a look at a few images recreating that day…
