OPEN MINDS
Dear Readers,
As August's golden hued days unfold, our hearts resonate with
patriotism, and we pause to reect upon our sacred duties as Indians.
Like a gentle monsoon breeze, the spirit of nationalism must permeate
every corner of our beloved land. For it is through education that we shall
dismantle the societal ills—poverty, inequality, and environmental
degradation—that cast shadows upon our collective destiny.
Within our school's hallowed halls, we nurture young minds, sowing
seeds of wisdom and resilience. Our students, like eager saplings, have
diligently prepared for their Mid-Term Examinations. These
assessments, akin to festive rituals, invigorate both learners and mentors.
As students sharpen their intellects, our dedicated teachers leave no
query unanswered, fostering an environment of holistic learning.
On this auspicious Independence Day, our newly elected school council
unfurls its banner of dedication. As the Head Teacher, witnessing the
parade lls me with pride—a beacon illuminating India's promising
future. The voices of our school ambassador, the resolute school captain,
and their peers echo a profound truth: education is not merely personal
growth but also a catalyst for national rejuvenation.
This year's Independence Day celebration, inspired by our Annual
Theme—Cultivating Communicative Prociency—intertwined with
vibrant threads. Painting competitions, spirited debates, graceful solo
dances, and soulful renditions lled our campus with the fervour of
patriotism. Our young performers graced the stage like constellations,
leaving an indelible mark. The video capturing their tireless efforts is
now streaming on our channel, OMK CONNECTS—a colloquy to their
unwavering commitment.
In a delightful interlude, our little explorers from K1, K2, and Grade 1
embarked on a voyage to Eduletics International A British School. There,
they reveled in the cool embrace of the swimming pool during the Splash
Pool Activity. Soon, we shall extend this aquatic joy to students from
other grades.
Warm regards,

A Salute to the Nation and the Spirit of Freedom
The chests swollen with unspeakable pride, the air resounding with the spirit of valour and
sacrifice, the beloved to the entire nation – the Tiranga – touching the sky, and every face
intoxicated with patriotic fervour, yes, you have guessed right. We are talking of the 77th
anniversary of our Motherland, India's freedom.
A series of fantastic programmes in the campus of OMK held everyone spellbound as the students
swept every body present here off their
feet with power packed performances –
whether
it was their emotional appeals
in the speeches, their musical
incantations or their electrifying dance
moves. The principal's wise words
reminded them of the significance of
the magnanimous day, and exhorted
them to be true to their duties towards
nation and society. A look at the grand
visuals of the day…
"Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?"...

Science Lab Activity
“Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world."
Education in the Labs
Science labs hold an irresistible attraction for students. It's because they have always been more
interested in practical than in the theoretical aspect of education. In the labs, the things are not
inscribed in a book, but they realize in front of the children. The physics concepts, the interesting
formulae of chemistry, the mysteries from biology, all suddenly come alive in the form of designated
activities under the supervision of the mentors.
That's why when the students step into a science lab, they are their curious best. They effortlessly get
absorbed into tasks their teachers suggest. It opens to them the doors to an unknown world of
learning. Here the information from books turn into knowledge with the perceived experiences.
Therefore, the lab sessions organised for various grades of OMK turned into sessions of joy. Learning
and excitement. Be a witness to it through a few visuals…
"The laboratory is the temple of the soul of the scientist."
Assembly
August brought a plethora of interesting topics for the assemblies. This time the senior most classes – Grades 11
and 12 started the ball rolling. They presented on the theme of 'Innovation and Creativity' which scattered itself
in
several hues of topics. The little ones of Grade 2 and 1 Delta enlarged on 'Friendship'. Their excitement
for
theme was perceptible from their beaming faces. They showed to all how friendship towers over other forms of
human kinship because of selflessness inherent in it.
The tiny tots of Grade 1 were all at their jolly best when they stressed upon the importance of moral values in
their presentation. The same theme resounded in some of the Grades of 10 as Iota and Delta tried to see the
moral values under some deeper light and came out with some interesting interpretations.
The last sessions of the presentations were dedicated to the other sections of Grade 10, like Omega, Omicron
and Sigma. Their theme – 'The Spirit of Freedom' - was inspired by the pious anniversary of India's
Independence. The students set the stage on fire with their enthusiasm, sincerity and energy. A few visuals…

Move
The school is active not only on the days when the
students are present, but they are on their toes even
when the learners are resting their heels at home
during study leaves. Coordinators are busy musing
the best possible moves for the students' welfare.
Ruminations are on, thoughts are being
constantly exchanged and measures are being
considered. This is what the leaders do whether
the lights are on or off. Let's have a glimpse of the
pioneers of OMK...

Splash Pool
Saturdays become special for
children when they provide
them opportunities to stray a
bit from studies and have
some fun. And there is hardly
any fun activity bigger than
splashing in pools. This
could become possible on
two consecutive Saturdays of
this month when the tiny tots
of OMK visited the fancy

'Eduletics International

enthusiasm was palpable
among them as the buses left
the OMK campus for EBS.
Well-cared by their teachers,
they reached Eduletics and
the fun began. Their joy knew
no bounds.
In no time, they changed into
their swimming costumes
and went for the plunge. It
was an extraordinary site.
They splashed around like
little mermaids. They were

This month brought an unexpected bonanza for
Grade 1 students as they enjoyed a trip to
Eduletics International A British School. The
day was fun-lled as the kids had a splash in the
pool, tried their hands at table tennis, chess,
basket ball and carrom. Their exuberance and
energy was palpable in their demeanor. Enjoy

Science Olympiad
Foundation has
always been the
favourite area for
the geniuses at OMK to showcase
their knowledge and hold on the
subjects. Naturally, big wins pave their
paths with trophies, medals and
certicates.
This year, apart from the zone level
victories, our students have been capable
of winning medals at international levels too.
Therefore, they deserved to be felicitated in a
big way as the big medals couldn't wait more.
In a small yet fabulously organized
ceremony, these daredevils of OMK were
honoured with appreciation and medals
both. It was a momentous occasion for both –
the performers and the management. A

The best way to obtain knowledge is to ask questions and receive a suitable answer or response to it.
Asking a question indicates you are curious enough to know the ways of the things, and if the question
is good, the answer will appear from one of the myriad sources available around us. This perception,
probably, brings uizzes into existence.
OMK, since its beginning, has acted like a cradle to quiz related activities. The students are
meticulously trained and prepared to become masters in this art. Rooted in the same tradition were the
uiz Competitions of this very month. Students from Grades 1 to eagerly and enthusiastically
participated in the quiz contests based on specic themes. In the nal round conducted in the
auditorium, the winners were declared and certicates were awarded to the deserving. Have a look…

A ay for Plantation Enthusiasts at
At Open Minds Kankarbagh, a day
becomes special every year as it comes
reminding all of their duties towards their
mother planet and its environment. Any guesses? You are right if you are
thinking about it being the Plantation Day. This day makes us introspect
about our roles in keeping the environment safe enough for us and for
the generations to come. We, at OMK, consider it a pious duty to keep
the would be citizens present at our campus aware of their
duties towards the ora and fauna on the
earth.
A small plantation drive is organised
under the supervision of the mentors who
not only explain to them the nitty-gritties
of the issue, but guide them into the
process of planting trees and its
importance. See the images and be
involved with them through these visuals.

The school, having opened after a long summer break, was busy, at a
frantic pace, running classes to complete the carved out portion of the
syllabus for the mid-term. Suddenly the exams came like clouds covering
the sky from all the corners. The solemn faces stood a testimony to the
seriousness it had bought to them.
Revision sessions took over the space previously occupied by normal
classes. Students turned, overnight, into studious souls to overcome
the challenge standing on their way. It showed a tremendous transformation on all sides. These exams
keep reminding us 'life too is an examination at every step, and those who face it with all the strength God
has bestowed upon them, come out with ying colours in those tests.'

Art is magical. People draw lines of different shapes and sizes, and lo, unexpectedly, fanciful gures and
images appear on that piece of paper. What a genius the person is who can perform such feats It is all in
one's mind. And such magicians are there in good number in OMK.
This month a painting competition was organised among the kids of different grades, and they
answered the call in such a spirited way that the occasion wore a festive look. The students drew a new
vivid world on canvas. Then varied hues lled those worlds with a new life. The onlookers were lled
with wonder. The mentors looked proud and satised. The little face, busy in their happy new creation,
beamed with joy and the contentment of
creating something wonderful.
