Dear Readers,
In the quietude that envelops our hallowed halls, there lies a profound truth. Spoken in
jest, yet resonating with the depths of the cosmos, solitude is indeed the cradle of our
being.
As June unfurls its golden tapestry, our corridors whisper tales of solitude, classrooms
echo with the silence of introspection, and buses bask under the sun's gaze, reminiscent
of Gokul in the still anticipation of Krishna's (our students) footsteps. The arrival of a
child within these walls heralds a reign of unbridled sovereignty, where the only decree
is the whimsy of youthful exuberance. Yet, from this seeming disarray, the noble
structure of discipline and decorum emerges, sculpting the intangible edice of
learning.
Amidst the languid embrace of summer, my thoughts meander, weaving plans for the
forthcoming terms alongside a few of my devoted colleagues. Our educators,
ensconced in their abodes, craft lessons with the singular aim of metamorphosing our
classrooms into sanctuaries of enlightenment. Meanwhile, the diligent hands of our
printing department fashion worksheets, the transport team breathes new life into our
eet, and the electricians weave safety into our very conduits. The stage, born anew
from the aspirations of our Operations team, stands in quiet anticipation, ready to echo
with the voices of our youth, all in service to our Annual Theme: Cultivating
Communicative Prociency.
This year's academic canvas is enriched by the vibrant hues of our Annual Theme,
which has inspired the creation of myriad clubs, each a gardener tending to the
ourishing of our students' personas. At Open Minds, we hold our scholarly pursuits in
high esteem, making thoughtful adjustments to our routines to ensure each developing
learner receives the nurturing they require.
In addition to our regular curriculum, the Committee of Continuous Improvement
(CCI) will extend its nurturing hand through after-school classes. With foresight and
determination, we embark on our preparations for the Board Examinations from the
Mid Term, setting our sights on ever loftier achievements. This month, we also celebrate
the nurturing spirit of Father's Day and the verdant promise of Environment Day, each
event weaving its own unique strand into the rich tapestry of our school's life.
As we move forward, we nd ourselves at the cusp of an event as momentous as the
nation's own democratic exercise. As India celebrates the General Elections 2024, a
testament to the collective will of its people, our school mirrors this grandeur with our
own annual elections. Just as the nation's electorate gathers in unity to chart the course
of governance, our students too will assemble with the weighty responsibility of
shaping the student body's future. The parallels are striking and symbolic; the ballots
cast within our school's walls are as signicant to us as the votes that decide the
country's fate. Our young candidates, brimming with ideas and visions for progress,
reect the very spirit of democracy that pulsates through the heart of India. The
electoral process in our school is not merely an academic exercise but a celebration of
democratic
values, leadership, and the power of a single vote. It is a microcosm of the
national stage, where every student's voice echoes the aspirations of the nation's
citizenry.
Let us embrace the celebration of Yoga Day and the fervour of our annual elections, each
adding its own vibrant thread to the intricate weave of June's festivities.
Sincerely,
A. Awasthi

Beginning in 1974 to create awareness about environmental issues, marine
pollution, population explosion, sustainable development and global warming,
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 by the governments,
nongovernmental agencies and many other organisations. The purpose is to draw
the world's attention towards the dangers our irresponsible activities pose for the
environment and nd out effective solutions to deal with them.
To be in truck with the world in sharing the same concerns and with a view to make
positive contributions to this cause OMK too chips in every year with its little
geniuses creating awareness among one and all on the above said day with its
especially charted out programmes. A few visuals…

Behind every child who grows to become a successful person and a good human
there is a father. You will always nd a father sacricing his comforts,
conveniences and the ways for the welfare of his child. And the child can't,
naturally, help looking up to him for everything he needs to do or face. Those
mighty arms carved out to protect the child also pat his back when the child
crosses a milestone in his life. He prepares a launch pad with all he has so that the
child may launch himself or herself into the innite skies of possibilities and
success.
To celebrate such a companionship, the students of OMK assembled in
Maa Sharda Auditorium with moving poems, speeches and presentations to say
thank you to them from the depth of their hearts. Have a glimpse…

Yoga stands for communion of a person's inside and
outside. It opens doors of miraculous possibilities we as
humans can explore. It is equally important in Yoga to
control our mental, physical and spiritual energy through
certain stances and poses observed. To recognize its sheer
potential, the world, on June 21, celebrates International
Yoga Day patronized by the UN.
At OMK, we observe this day with fervor and joy. This
year too, the students and the teachers assembled in the
auditorium for a brief yet signicant yoga session under
the expert guidance of the capable faculties. It was
soothing to see all present on the occasion trying to imbibe
yoga stances and asanas into their life during the morning
session. Let's have a look at the images representing the
day…

We are Ready for Welcome......
Wheels on Rest and Repair
The schools don't run only in the classrooms, they also run on the wheels, don't they? Just
think of the yellow cars on the six wheels doing the rounds and ferrying the students from
and to schools across the city. And during those commutes students are taught invaluable
lessons of cooperation, acceptance and tolerance. They share seats, feelings and healthy
vibes with one another. They learn to take care of themselves and their schoolmates while
on the buses.
Thus buses form a signicant part of the entire school system, making it go smoothly.
Those
buses too need rest and repair. Recognizing these needs of our wheeled partners,
OMK organizes a restore and repair drive during the summer holidays, It mar range from
a bit of tinkering to a complete overhaul, but the entire process is quite comprehensive as
well as intricate. Just a glance at this operation concluded recently…
“Anyone can drive a car, but it takes a special person to drive a school bus.”

Long
summer breaks come
as a relief to all restless under the
sweltering summer heat. The students as well
as the teachers find time for rest and recreation. Tourist
destinations get abuzz with people and that also enriches the lives of
the students as they undergo numerous experiences that foster growth and
understanding. But schools are schools, they are the second home to children, how can
they afford to stay away from this home. So after a few weeks, the vacations do get
over and the quiet schools again get filled with happy hustle and bustle of students
and teachers. Classes find their beloved children back, friends chatter, share the
countless
new things they have tried during the break. It is, indeed, a happy sight, a
th
heavenly sight. At OMK too, 25 of June presented the similar show as the campus was
swarmed with the students with faces beaming a renewed zeal.
“School bells are ringing loud and clear; vaca ons over, school is here.”
Individuality must be nurtured, strengthened and
solidified in a person for it gives him or her the power
to be different and efficacious, but learning to work as a
team is equally important to realise the true potential of
an individual. Here come the schools cultivating team-
spirit among students, helping them learn how to
correlate with other's desires, aspirations and give vent
to theirs too in a positive way.
At OMK, we lay special emphasis to teamwork and
keep working to inculcate the accommodative spirit
among children through different activities and programmes. Our students too leave no
stone unturned when it comes to assimilating these traits into their personality.
The assembly conducted in the last week of June by the students is a testimony to this fact.
Have a look at these visuals showcasing the wonderful effort they put in to explain how
'teamwork marks the dreamwork'…

Asking questions is the most efficient way to learn and motivate people to know more. The
one who asks gets illumined and the one who replies feels the urge to explore more. Thus
quizzes come into the scene. They not only strengthen our academic grasp but also help us
learn about what is happening around us.
Therefore, to initiate the tiny scholars into the same process, OMK organized a quiz series for
grades 1 to 4. It was interesting to see how enthusiastically the children participated and
faced the volley of questions with poise and confidence. Have a look at these images…

Debate
Club
Debates sway us off our foot, they teach us how to
reason and probe for what is true. They are the
tools to hone our public speaking skills and
acquire greater understanding of the seeking
process on in every heart. Analyzing both the
sides of a topic one learns to cultivate a balanced
approach towards everything.
The recently concluded debates for Grade- 6
fantastically established the above said. The topics
varied from impact of technology on humans to importance of reading. The students went an extra mile to
ascertain the truth behind their arguments through research and analysis before they put it across the
judges and the audience. A look…
