As the sun casts its golden rays upon the canvas of April, we stand amidst the dawn of a new
chapter, brimming with promises and aspirations, ready to inscribe the next verse in our academic
saga.

Amidst all this bustle of activities we are surrounded with, we pause for a few moments to pay
heartfelt tributes to our beloved father gure, our guardian angel, Shri Ram Layak Singh, who
left for his heavenly abode on 10 April, 2024. His noble character, his personal integrity will keep
illumining our path in the times to come.

“It’s not been long since you left for your heavenly abode, and
your sweet memories, your motivation stick to our hearts like the
North Star, showing us the direction in the limitless sea of illusions!
Rest in peace our Guardian Angle!”
The soul is neither born, nor it ever dies; nor does it become only after being born.
For, it is unborn, eternal, everlasting and premeval; even though the body is slain, the soul in not.
BHAGWATGITA : 2/20
Beginnings are always interesting. They harbour hope and assurance. How much the set goals are realized depends
upon how beautifully they are planned and executed.
st
The same applied to the beginning of the Session 2024-25. For the juniors, it was 1 of April, while the middle and the
high school students set their foot in their new classes the next day. Their excitement knew no bounds as the new books,
and new class meant a new start where several new teachers interacted with them. The formalities were completed,
rules and regulations were explained, and they were familiarised with the theme for the new session that is 'Cultivating
Communicative Prociency'. The joy of establishing new friendships and at times meeting with their previous year pals
in the class was palpable on their faces. Let's have a look at the visuals…
The First Day - A New Beginning

“As long as you're alive, you always have the chance to start again."
Students learn little from books and more by emulating what their teachers do. If right examples are set in front of
them, they happily follow.
Therefore, the rst assembly was scheduled to be performed by the teachers themselves. Topics were carefully picked
which contributed to the theme 'Cultivating Communicative Prociency'.
Doubtless to say, the teachers put up an impeccable show with their knowledge, craft and public speaking skills. It was
pleasant to see the children standing in front and imbibing new lessons in oratorical mastery and art of presentation.
Undoubtedly teaching by example will go a long way in enriching the psyche of the students.

Spell Bee-A Wizard’s Act
For Primary Wing
Spellings hold a great importance in a child's life. The ability to learn words and how they spell is both fun and a
challenge. It becomes an enjoyable activity if children are encouraged with a sense of healthy competition. The
teachers have to guide the little ones as memorizing something sustainably and effectively demands following a
scientic pattern – like associations, imaging, constant revisions etc.
The spell-bee contests organized at schools positively motivate a student to take up the challenge and learn the
spelling of a given number of words in an effective way.
In OMK, it was conducted for grades 1 to 4. It contained two interesting rounds. Those who were screened in the rst
round were tested for the second round too on the stage of Maa Sharda auditorium in front of a host of students and
teachers. The participants left the audience spell-bound with their extraordinary memories and recollection skills. Just
a few images to relive those moments…
06
“To learn to read is to light a re; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.”
We are the wordsmiths of OMK!
“Well-told stories help turn moments of great crises into moments of new beginnings.”
07
Stories are not the way only to entertain the young minds, but are also means to educate them. The lessons imparted
through stories remain etched in the mind for long as they come alive in front of us through interesting characters.
It’s Fun Time! It’s Story Time!
Listening to stories hones our communication skill as we learn to use all our faculties to create images painted by vivid
shades of imagination. It augments our perceptive abilities and gives edge to our expressive accuracy.
The story-telling contest for students of grades 5 to 8 served all these purposes immaculately as the students took the
stage one after another weaving tales of various hues and mesmerizing the audience.
At the end of the two successive rounds, the winners got medals as well as certicates awarded to them by the
authorities. Let's glance at the images portraying the prime moments of the event…
08
“When we tell a story we enable the
listener to enter its time and place with us,
see what we see, hear what we hear, feel what we feel.”
Oh, Excellence! You are your own reward!

“Narrative is not talking “about”
values; rather a narrative embodies and
communicates values.”

“There may be people that have more
talent than you, but there's no excuse for
anyone to work harder than you do."

“Always go with your passions. Never ask yourself if it’s realistic or not.”
K1 and K2 Orientation
Partnering with Parents
Walking into school campus for very rst time in one's life as a student is a unique experience – the mixture of sweet
and bitter feelings crops up on the surface. After all, it is not so easy to jump out of mama's lap and adapt to a
completely new environment, learn to follow instructions, watch out one's actions and practise how to read and write.
It's like having too much on a plate at a time, and the acclimatization is slow.
And what to talk of the little souls, it's an equally daunting process for the parents too. They do need guidance to join
the school system in order to emerge as true partners in their ward's progress.
Keeping all this in view, the school organized an orientation session for K group. Parents carved out time from their busy
schedule and joined in a big number. It was joyful to witness the interaction of hope and expectation between the
teachers and the parents. They got a wonderful chance to understand the school and the system it runs on. A few
glimpses…
13
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
14
“Tiny steps, big dreams : Where little hearts embark on the grand adventure of lerning”.
A New Story Begins!
15
“Stepping into the school gates,
parents nd a sanctuary where dreams take root,
and futures begin to bloom.”
Becalming the Minds!
16
“Each picture tells a story of innocence, laughter, and the timeless joy of learning.”
It’s Joy to be at OMK!
17
“Keep your face towards the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.”
Activities all the Way!
As the theme of this session zeroes in on cultivating communicative brilliance, every activity planned revolves around
the same. All that can add up to serve this purpose gets the stress.
Assemblies with a Difference
Assemblies with a Difference
Assemblies are a great means of emboldening students in the art of public speaking. They mitigate the fear of stage in
students and bestow them with condence to face the world.
They also build a bridge between the teacher and the taught. Students learn a lot from their mentors and being
appreciated for their presentation by them boosts their morale.
The assemblies by classes 10, 12 and 9 were perfect testimony to these. They provided the students an opportunity to
think, to brainstorm, to research and reach at their own conclusions. Variedly themed, these events compelled the
students to think and develop clarity of thought. They, somewhere, also helped them develop team spirit and
cooperative attitude. The programmes were terse yet entertaining and informative.

The Hindi Olympiad conducted last year came back to our memories and the names of the winners were announced
recently. The winners were awarded medals and certicates for the positions they had secured. It was a good move as
the participants felt encouraged on acquiring good level of prociency in Hindi, their mother tongue. Here are the
