JANUARY
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Reader,
The first month of the year is always full of hope and aspirations. It is the time for a fresh
beginning. New resolutions are created and goals are set. Whether we succeed in those
attempts depends upon how passionate we are towards our progress and commitments.
Apart from it, a constant analysis of our work is also required, for, while on way, we may
get distracted knowingly or unknowingly for umpteen reasons. Introspection helps us
correct our course and lessens the time consumed to be where we want to be.
We, who are working to achieve a far bigger objective than a personal one – that is securing
each child in our school becomes a worthy human, need to stay conscious of any possibility
of such distractions. Integrity is important in personal life, but it becomes much more
important when we step into the echleons of public life, for there we are helping the would be
citizens of the country forge their characters listening to us and following our stances. At
the helm of academic affairs, it, every day, crosses my mind that we have to teach and lead
not by percept but by setting examples with our own conduct.
From Pre-boards to the inauguration of the new school, several affairs kept occupying our
time, but the most appreciable thing was we have been capable of completing the syllabus
in all the classes on time, and to a good extent, revision sessions too have been successfully
conducted. This shows the dedication of our teaching faculty that they will never
compromise as far as academic excellence is concerned.
Now the task that will arrest our attention in the times to come before the new session
begins is how we prepare ourselves for it, for what we successfully applied last year might
demand updation and a slightly different approach as each session is, no matter how
similar it appears, immensely different from the preceding one. Continuing with whatever
good we have been doing, we have to lay greater stress on improving the numeral as well as
the communication skill of our students. That will require a proactive approach on our
side. Let us gird up our loins for the challenges and opportunities coming our way.
Wishing you all a happy reading,
Yours truly,
A. Awasthi

December became a witness to Pre-board 2
examinations which got students huffing and puffing
about rectifying the grey areas they had discovered
during Pre-board 1. It was important to plug all the
holes that could cost them dearly during the
forthcoming Boards. Though exhaustive, it is an
essential exercise to keep the the students ready for
their final plunge. These Pre-boards can be credited
for one more thing. They remove the fear of exams
from the hearts of the students. A few glimpses of the
exams…

18 January, 2024 will be remembered
as 'the red letter day' in the history of
OMK, as it saw a sister concern of it
'Eduletics International A British
School' being inaugurated. Elaborate
arrangement of the Pooja for house
warming ceremony marked the
auspicious day open which was
further ornamented by the oath
taking of the principals for both the
branches. The staff was presented
with beautiful souvenirs for the
occasion. After all, it was a dream
come true for those who had worked
tirelessly and meticulously to make
this happen. It was a mega-project
wonderfully realized in a record
time…

Every year on 26 January, the entire
nation celebrates being declared a
republic in 1950 as on this day, India
adopted its constitution which is the
longest written document in the
world amalgamating the best of
practices from all the prominent
codes of conduct of administration in
the major countries of the world.
It was special for OMK too, as the
students, this year, got a chance to
participate in the flag hoisting
ceremony of two schools – OMK and
EBS. The patriotic fervour with the
rants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai' charged
the atmosphere.

A school always loves its students. Their success, their
achievements, their arrival, their good byes, everything
becomes important.
On 27th of January, OMK passed through such sweet – bitter
moments. It was the occasion to say good bye to those who are
to pass out 12 for their further professional studies, while the
ones appearing at forthcoming class 10 boards had to be wished
good luck for the first major examination of their lives. Many
of them would definitely like to come back after the exams to
pursue grades 11 and 12. They need our blessings and wishes to
come out with flying colours in the above mentioned test.
It is not easy, as it's like welcoming one child and sending off
another for their coming endeavours. Memories come flooding.
Look at the visual memories of those moments…
“You have the heart of a lion and the determination to follow your dreams.”
“A new and exciting road is standing before you.
Good luck on the next steps toward your future.”
“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you're not going to stay where you are.”

The nation, for a few years has been
organising this unique prog ramme
'Pariksha Pe Charcha'. Conducted by the
Prime Minister himself, this programme
aims at alleviating the fear of exams from
the student's minds. A new concept
launched with an honest intention has
become immensely popular now. Millions
of students across the nation join this
programme directly or indirectly, and watch
the Prime Minister interact with certain
selected students in New Delhi. Thousands
join the initiative online responding to the
call for write ups too.
This year too more than a hundred students
of OMK from grades 9 to 11 along with
many teachers watched this telecast live on
the auditorium screen.
The Prime Minister's timely and apt advice
on how to face exams in a fear-free manner
and make it a festival to celebrate resonated
well with the students. A look at the
visuals…
