NOVEMBER
Session : 2023-24
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Reader,
The month of November opens with its arrival a plethora of activities. Especially, this
November proved to be a complete mixture of fun and work.
The mid of the month was full of two big festivals – Diwali and Chhath. Vacations gave
each of us an opportunity to regale in religious flavour as well as enjoy and relish ourselves
with our loved ones. Festivals shoo away the monotony from our life and fill it with
variegated hues of culture and entertainment.
The moment, the festivals said us good bye, the exams were there, knocking at our doors. It
was the time to get down to work – serious work. Conducting the tests, examining the
answer sheets, and simultaneously preparing for the result absorbed us through and
through.
After all, doesn't this month teach us how to strike a balance between fun and
work? The key to success in any endeavour lies in managing both work and recreation. One
who knows how to do this registers an advantage in his favour.
And this spirit of celebration which begins with these festivals seeps into our academics too
and
bursts out as a cascade of joy in the form of 'Winterature'. Students, alongside the
studies, get indulged in different communication related contests from debates and
elocution to poetry writing. The flow of creativity touches the pinnacle during this
programme. Everywhere there is a rush of high spirit and enthusiasm. This year's
winterature was no exception which saw students across grades participating and proving
themselves in various literary contests.
Thus it is interesting to wade through this month with so much on our plate. We fall, we
get up, we win and we learn. Hope the next month has far more exciting opportunities in
store for us. Let us wait, watch and remain active.
Wish you a happy reading till then…
Yours truly,
Reshma Singh
State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS) - PARAKH
State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS) - PARAKH
The state government through a programme called
PARAKH is trying to gather information about
schools in the state, their educational background
and the status of teaching activities.
In the same line, the PARAKH team visited our
school too, met the students of various classes, gave
them questionnaires to fill and expressed
happiness and satisfaction at the state of affairs
here. Children also enjoyed the conversation with
the PARAKH team and confidently responded to
their queries. A few glimpses…
"Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom."
Art and education can't be separated from one another as they
complement each other. Art opens the doors of creativity in a person's
mind. Seeing this, even the Government of India has integrated art with
education in its New Education Policy. Trying to develop a beautiful
handwriting is one such practice which helps a child be presentable on
paper, at the same time assists him to express their artistic side.
To assert this further, the school organized a handwriting competition
among the students. They participated with a lot of enthusiasm and it was
like pearls had been woven on paper.
"Languages are a representation of our thoughts."

Students love sports and keep waiting for an
opportunity to participate in any of them that
comes their way. It absorbs them both
physically and mentally. It teaches them
team-spirit and leadership skills.
The school, in November, organized an intra-
basketball tournament which saw different
houses competing against one another. The
students invested all their stamina and
energy in helping their teams win. The final
match had the entire 9 and 10 as spectators on
the school basketball ground itself. A few
visual memories

Winterature
Winter stands for happy time, the time to rejoice
when the nature also seems to promote health and
creativity. Such exhilarating times do demand
celebrations. And it comes in the form of
'Winterature' in OMK. Speeches, elocutions, poetry
recitations, and much more are there to enthrall the
audience. The enthusiasm of the students to organize
and participate it touches the sky.
This year too, it was a joy to watch the young
geniuses of the school walking towards the stage to
overwhelm the audience with their gift of the gab
and other creative talents. Here are a few glimpses
through the visual memories…

Let's Welcome Diwali
– the Festival of Light
When there is light within, no darkness can take the joy inherent in our
being away from us. To remind this truth to all, Diwali comes every year
illuminating our homes and hearts, portraying Rama who bravely
faced all odds of life, vanquished every challenge on his way and
returned to Ayodhya with his wife, victorious and revered. The
students of the OMK delieneated this truth with astute conscience in
the special assembly on the day of Diwali. It was a performance worth
watching. A few glimpses…
" Diwali celebrating with diyas, lighting up in heart too, for inner illumination!"

With the Post-Midterm getting over, the exams silently
made their way into the academic routine. Slightly
anxious but confident faces of the students increased the
hustle and bustle of the concerned week. It was worthy
culmination of a sustained venture which had filled the
days of both the teachers and the taught. The purpose of
this mammoth activity was not to test how much the
students knew but how well they could cope up with the
calculated pressure and how well they could face such
tests in life. The lethargy which had set in with the
vacations evaporated with the exam related activities.
"Sometimes the hurdles aren't really hurdles at all. They are welcome challenges, tests."
