SEPTEMBER
Session : 2023-24
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Reader,
September stands for exam fever. The mid term exams occupy the major part of this
month's calendar. The results and the anticipations regarding it create a suspense in the
hearts of the the students. And then the subsequent PTMs bring about an opportunity for
the teachers and the parents to meet and discuss the academics and many other aspects of
the children's progress. It's a Trinity of teachers, students and parents that work in a
synchronized way to create a foundation for development among children.
Septembers, towards their end, also announce the departure of monsoon from the Indian
Subcontinent. The earth, nourished and enriched by benevolent rains get ready to welcome
winter. One harvesting season is on the verge of completion, while another one is about to
start. And then come the festivals which provide an opportunity to clean one's outer and
inner surroundings and live the legends of the victory of good over evil.
This September too emerged a pleasant one, for several of our students came out with flying
colours
in the SOF exams. Trophies, medals and cash prizes brought a precious glow to
their innocent faces. After all, reward has its own values when it comes to encouraging the
worthy to strive for the best.
Our mother tongue Hindi is gradually growing in stature. On Hindi Diwas this year,
several fascinating programmes were organised by the school in which our young students
displayed their capabilities in various performances. The poetry recitation by the K2 kids
in Hindi was a memorable one. It's the tongue used by more than 80 crore people in India,
and the 3rd most spoken language in the world.
The hard work school puts in different areas – be it in academics or the extracurricular
activities – is helping us cement our reputation as a progressive institution which is
continuously aware of its importance, and consistently committed to its advancement. I
believe we are on a right path and we need to give ourselves a part on the back of it. Wish
you all a happy reading!
Yours truly,
Reshma Singh
Mid-Term Examinations
Septembers bring with them the exam fever.
Everywhere the Mid-Term being on the verge of
completion, the students and the faculty both get
into exam mode. Revisions, exams, corrections,
results, PTMs are a few words that keep doing the
rounds.
A noble seriousness is painted over every
face.
The pious yajna of Mid-Term Examinations at
OMK this September was performed with minute
care and utmost tenderness. Nicely balanced
question papers tested the profoundness of the
students' knowledge. Students heaved a sigh of
relief the day they wrote their last paper. 'Exam-
exam, go away! Poor Peter wants to play...'
“Whether you think you can, or you think you cannot – you are right.”
Parents-Teachers Meeting
Exams are as much about
parents as they are about
students. Many a time parents
are more concerned about their
ward's progress than the wards
themselves are. So, PTMs
become a must for parents and
guardians to meet the teachers
of their loved ones. It's not only
about how the student did in the
exams, it's about building a
relationship and forging a strong
partnership aimed at ensuring
all-round development of the
children. It's the trinity of
students, teachers and parents
that work wonders.
“If you can dream it, you can do it.”
Connecting home and school makes us a great community of learners.”

SOF and Prizes
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)
provides students opportunities to challenge
their own limits and explore their strength in
a fun way. It's a unique platform for all the
scholars to par ticipate and prove
themselves. Every year, millions of students
appear at the tests conducted all over the
country and try to score well enough to
make a mark at different levels. The SOF
exams conducted the last session brought
laurels to the students of OMK who came
out in flying colours in the exams conducted
for all the subjects at the zonal level. Adwiti
Banka of grade 8 won a trophy and other
prizes including cash prize for her
exceptional performance securing bronze
medal in the Zone. Neel Deo and Vedansh
Vardhan won bronze medals at International
Olympiad. Several other students won cash
and kind for the same. After all, it was a
mesmerizing performance.

Hindi is the most spoken language
in Bharat. It is the first language
and the mother tongue to around
80 crore people in our country. It is
sweet, rich and musical too. Even
kids of K2 drawn by its irresistible
charm couldn't help reciting
poetry in this tongue on Hindi
Diwas. The auditorium was a
witness to the rhythmical
incantation. The audience which
comprised both students and
faculties enjoyed it through and
through. It was indeed a joyful
rendition...

The Elocution
Elocutions are electrifying. Seeing
the
students speaking with clear
pronunciation and using good
breathing to control the voice was
a pure joy that can hardly be
described in words. Poems,
speeches, monologues everything
got perfected with right accent
and intonation used by the
children of Grades 3 to 6. There
w a s v a r i e t y , t h e r e w a s
dramaticity and entertainment
too when children presented
these pieces in their own unique
style. Have a look...

“Let thy speech be better than silence, or be silent.”
Nothing can take us closure to the
truth than a healthy debate. In a
d e b a t e , t h e d e b a t e r s
participating for and against the
motion research and try to
convince the jury of their
viewpoints with the help of
evidences gathered in the form of
facts, figures and data. It's not
only about convincing the judges
but also about getting down to
the deepest level of the fact,
d i s s e c t i t a n d re a ch th e
incontrovertible truth.
The same was visible in the
debate conducted for Grades 7
and 8 where students tried their
best to express themselves as
authentically and assertively as
possible. It was a wonderful
presentation. Here are some
visuals for the same...

“For good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument and debate.”
Sometimes debates can be entertaining as well as
educative. It depends on the topic how it motivates the
participants to dive deeper in it and find out profound
meaning to enrich both the speakers as well as the
audience. This time, the students of Grade 8 indulged
in an interesting and engaging discussion on the topic
'The Book Smarts Are Better than the Street Smarts'.
The proposition and the opposition both produced
interesting arguments in favour of their sides. It was a
battle of words and a war of ideas which destroyed
none but enriched all who were a witness to it.
