Dear Readers,
Coming out of the Pre Mid Term results and the subsequent PTMs, we
found  ourselves  in  July  on  a  track  which  warranted  a  swift  and
consistent  movement  towards  our next  academic  destination  - the
Mid  Term  Exams  initiating  in  the  last  week  of  August.  The  Primary
objective in this part of the session is completing the syllabus on time
ensuring the students comprehend everything they have been taught.
This is not a rocket science, though not a cake walk either. It is the result
of a synchronized effort put in by all the cogs in the school wheel.

Assemblies  and  presentations  on  contemporary  topics  too  grant  a
didactic  value  to  the  entire  academic  disposition.  They  play  a
constructive role in shaping up the personality of the students, do up
their communication skill and help them express their intentions, plans
and approach to a particular stimulus in a better way. They are a vital
part of their career formation and enhancement program. Therefore,
we  permeated  the  routine  of  this  month  with  assemblies  and
presentations on an array of interesting and invigorating topics. Seeing
the children walk onto the stage for   speeches, debates, role-plays
and other activities was heartening and reassuring.

It's July only when nature plays the muse with intermittent rains stirring
our aesthetic sense. The pitter-patter of raindrops on roofs and grounds
alike play a soothing symphony to every ear. Rain teaches the young
souls kindness and sympathy. The rain gives the whole earth a new
lease of life after the scorching summer. It does not seek anything in
return from the earth. Let the same rain teach us all the ability to do
good to everyone without seeing whether one deserves it or not.
Let's say goodbye till we meet again in the month of August.

Inter-school competitions aren't just events but an exhilarating celebration of talent,

hard work, and the spirit of sportsmanship. Our students participated in an array of

thrilling sports and co-curricular activities such as badminton, chess, swimming,

singing and music organized at Litera Valley School and DPS East Patna. The talented

participants of OMK walked away with the top prizes in their bags, winning gold medals

in swimming and folk song and silver medals in chess and the tabla.

Activities  open  the  paths  to  a  child's  heart.
Children  learn when  they  play  and create.  It
gives them a sky to use their imagination and
give life to things. It also stirs all their creative
faculties  and  brings  them  in  harmony  with
nature. Toeing the same line, the little brains of
K2  in  OMK  immersed  themselves  in  shaping
things with clay and making paper frogs. They
also  acquainted  themselves  with  different
shapes and got to know the concept of 'light'
and  'heavy'  through  mathematical    games.
After all, learning is Fun, isn't it?

The greatest merit of democracy  is it
can seep into every layer of public life.
It is as vibrant in Parliament as it is in
schools.  It  brings  to  students  the  real
meaning of 'for the people and by the
people'.  It  provides  everyone  the
opportunity  to  bring  their  leadership
skills out on the surface, teaches them
b e n e f i t s   o f   c o e x i s t e n c e   a n d
strengthens their faith in equality and
justice.
Like  the  years  before,  elections  for
student council were held in the mid of
July.  The  use  of  digital  technology
beautifully  ensured  fairness  in  both
voting and counting of votes which ran

Learning Experientially

Activities  are  the  soul  of  education.  Whatever  we
learn through them remain etched in our heart for a
long  time,  for  they  engross  us  in  whatever  is
happening  around,  and  ensure  our  voluntary
participation in it. They ensure we learn by doing.
Open Minds Kankarbagh has been a cradle of such
extracurricular  events  in  July  which  consisted  of
elections for the student council, energising debates,
awe-inspiring  presentations,  scintillating  role  plays
and several other things which stimulated students to
ask questions,  research  on given topics,  challenge
their fear of stage and self inflicted limitations.
It  was  fulfilling  to  see  them  perform  and  excel  in
different intellectual pursuits.
