Dear Readers

"Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead."

Open Minds conveys its most cordial salutation to all as we cross another milestone and

usher into the eleventh academic year ( 2023-24 ) of the school. We are indeed appreciative

of you for your conscientious endeavours to glorify the school with your benefaction in the

locales of academics as well as other consequential areas of amelioration.

Now, as we slowly but steadily regain foothold, every small success points to another

incredible and productive school year. At the very outset, we wish to congratulate the

laudable academic fulﬁlments of our Omkites despite many unforeseen disruptions last

year including our graduating cohorts whose academic success will provide inspiration to

many.

We contemplate the truth that the last school year had been challenging for many as it

demanded the recovery of learning losses and gaps exacerbated due to the reduced school

timing by the sudden closure of oﬄine classes out of reasons which stand inevitable. This

resulted a tough time for many to concentrate on the lessons taught in the previous class.

However students with a strong willpower amalgamated with self discipline and self reliance

had an edge over others in coping with such diﬃculties.

It has been recognized that not all change is improvement, but all improvement involves

change. Thus we owe our gratitude to the parents and all the stakeholders for their faith in

us. Your commitment to ensure that Open Minds remains a celebrated and successful school

is awe-inspiring. We are committed to live upto the rich testimony of a decade of excellence

and to add a new leaf to the grandeur of the school we await the inauguration of our new

extension the next academic year.

Thank you for entrusting your child's education to us. We look forward to a fantastic year

Open Minds on the 1 of April, 2023, organised a towering
orientation to make schooling more easier for both the students
and the parents making them understand the institution's
character and policies. Our school is a place where all members
of the school community are respected and valued. We have a
strong focus on academic excellence, and we strive to create a safe
and inspiring learning environment for all. We are committed to
help each student develop into a responsible, educated, and well-
rounded individual. The program bolstered the parents with our
home built app 'Eduletics' which helps each student to develop

Lately the entire civilization has beheld a diﬀerence. No facet of human's existence has been left untouched.
Facilitators since the beginning of this vocation have assumed ways to create impact in the lives of learners.
With time, we perceived a change. The change indeed had been for the better. Recently, the innovation brought
into this ﬁeld of teaching is something that every wall of the abodes of the human race has been a witness.
Education has been through various ebbs and ﬂows as the skills, the pedagogies or the innovation, the teachers
have in themselves received a renovation. And to keep this inventiveness breathing, the organisation plans
various training programmes for the teachers to help them upkeep the demands of the future generations and
one such training program was conducted on April 7, 2023 by the representatives of the Birla Edutech Limited
and the engagement the felicitators had with the trainers in the session was colossal.

The Visit of the BEL Team

Dr. Puspita Chattopadhyay : Director - Academics and
Special Projects, the Bel representative gave a visit to
the senior classes and imbibed virtuous values inside
their minds. Her insight of being grateful and having a
consistent positive approach towards life made the
students mindful of her words.

The school community gathered to commemorate the auspicious Ambedkar Jayanti
on April 14,2023 and the atmosphere was one ﬁlled with of reverence and celebration.

The majestic decorations that graced the
institution's holy grounds added to the
occasion's magniﬁcence.
As students and faculty members gathered to
honour the visionary leader who dedicated his
life to the upliftment of the oppressed and
marginalised, the aroma of intellect ﬁlled the air.
Everyone in attendance bowed in respect to the
Father of the Indian Constitution, and the air
was electrifying with a sense of patriotism and
dedication.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

A workshop was devised at our school to enhance the
working skills of our teachers. The past year has been a
wake-up call for all of us in the educational ﬁeld. It is
important for our faculties to develop and strengthen
the skills, the instincts, the abilities, the processes and
the resources that are needed to survive, adapt, and
thrive in a fast-changing world.

itself involved many linkages with education and the overall outcome of classroom.

THE ASSEMBLAGE

Morning assembly is an important part of the school
culture. It has the potential to maintain a positive and
healthy school culture that binds everyone together. It
is not just a clichéd activity rather helps in fulﬁlling the
purpose of conventional gathering. It helps in
cultivating self- conﬁdence, public speaking skills and
motivation in students. It results in the school living in
cohesive harmony that sustains the pursuit of
excellence in all its forms. The students, at OMK, gather
turn wise to conduct the morning assembly and set the
tone for the day. They presented their ideas and
information on diﬀerent topics and students learnt to
enhance their intrapersonal skills.

PRESENTATION

It was noteworthy that students of the Primary Wing of our School participated in various activities. Their
performance has been at par excellence. The enthusiasm of students and the cooperation of their parents has
been exemplary for senior students of the school. The puzzle-solving game played by the participants
nonplussed the audience and it was a marvelous performance. Other activities like Ramp-walk, painting,
drawing, dance, indoor and outdoor games, etc. were organized by the teachers for fun and learning. The
students not only enjoyed all activities but were also seen eager to learn new things. The parents valued the
eﬀorts made by the teachers. They were also amazed to ﬁnd the keen interest and involvement of teachers and
school administration. The hard work behind these activities was reﬂected in the participation and zeal of
students.

April comes and brings with it a plethora of activities which beautify the OMK's academic routine with interesting
hues.
This year too, it was a variegated display of creativity, talent and synchronicity up to grade 8. From 9 to 12, it was
the teacher's prerogative to decide which activities suited to the needs of that particular class. Thus several
subjects and skill sets were amalgamated to fashion up their last periods.

makes the students feel that they are a part of community where they are safe.

Festivals are celebrated to break the monotony of life. They
enhance our social and cultural life as we get to know about
diﬀerent cultures. The students of K2 celebrated Eid in the school
with immense joy and cheerfulness. They actively participated in
the celebration along with their teachers who guided them. The
celebration was done in a very traditional manner so as to make
the students aware of our culture and traditions. The students
decked up in fancy and colourful clothes, were brimming with
enthusiasm. It made the moment ﬁlled with an aura of beautiful
colours and festivity.

Everyday of our life is a special occasion.

Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated.
