SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER
SESSION : 2019-20
Head Teacher
Mr Madhukar Jha
Dear Parents, Family and Friends of OMK
Gree ngs to all!
Accept my sincere compliments and acknowledgements!
I hope you all had a great fes ve break with your family and friends!
To be an element of the crowd is ordinary, to stand aloof from the crowd making your own discrete
iden ty is extraordinary.
Open Minds has always believed and will always be believing on the above stated ideology. To
become what it is today was not a task of a few hours. Numerous and countless days have gone into
the making of the magnificence.
And now the responsibility of keeping up its honour and repute has to be shouldered by our Young
Minds. We firmly believe that our students will always keep the colours of OMK at the ambit. To make
them primed for all challenges and voca ons is what we contemplate. We hope that the best is yet
to come!
The months of September and October were very much occupied by all sorts of Academic
assignments like the Mid Term Examina ons Registra on, of Grade IX and XI students and
finalisala on of Grade X LOC but we s ll found me to make way to some exemplary ac vi es.
You all have been a very prized possession of ours and we take ourselves extremely fortunate to have
been associated with you. Thank you for all the support and guidance that you have been showering
upon us. We count on you all and look ahead to the same alliance.

With the above stated note, I put forward the NEWSLETTER for the months of September and
October.
Set back and sail through a lovely voyage of reading!
A group to high ranked
professionals lodged a complaint against the government as it had decided to
pay a higher salary to teachers than them. When summoned, the government replied, “How can we put
someone equal or higher to those who have made these HIGH RANKED PROFESSIONALS?
The above stated ny tale is enough to make any one realise the impera veness and need of teachers.
There is a saying that a teacher is like a candle that burns to keep others in brightness and we strongly
believe the same.
So, as an act of reverence and respect towards the teachers, the students of OMK celebrated the Teachers'
Day on 05.09.2019 with great zeal and enthusiasm. A cultural program was organised by the students in
the honour of the teachers. The func on ended with the Vote Of Thanks which was given by our Respected
Principal, Mr. Madhukar Jha. The performance le everyone mesmerised and astounded.

Many s ll wish to live a life of a warrior, a life of a king! They too wish to find themselves standing
in the middle of a NO MAN'S LAND, figh ng ferociously and with utmost courage to save their
kingdoms from ge ng annexed. They too hope to experience the chivalric honour.
But in the present scenario, it seems next to impossible because there is no room to kingship
anymore and what speaks strong is just democracy.
On the other hand where living a king's warrior life in reality is a myth now, there is s ll something
that allows one to experience chivalry. It is nothing other than CHESS.
The chess board becomes your ba le field, you become the king and you own the full army with
horses and elephants. The tricks, the steps slowly lead one towards VICTORY.
It is just not a game, it is an indulgence. It takes one into complete cap vity. It is rightly said that it
is a ba le not fought with arms but with wisdom.
CBSE Cluster Games organised the EAST ZONE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP in Ranchi from 12.10.2019 to
14.10.2019. Numerous CBSE schools across the EAST Zone marked their par cipa on. Our OMK
also made its presence there as a par cipant school. Our students performed exceedingly well and
Ayush Sinha of Grade VIII stood 4th among all the par cipants and Sadiq Nawab of Grade 5 bagged
the Xth posi on.

It is far be er to debate a doubt without se ling it than to se le a doubt without deba ng it.
Whenever there is a ques on of drawing a conclusion to any burning topic or issue, the word that
strikingly hits our mind is that of 'Debate'.
Deba ng is one such ac vity that can enhance the oratory skills of any individual along with
grooming their approach towards discussion of any topic.

Lights do speak so much. They have their own manner of expression. They outshine darkness and
bring about clarity. They harvest the a ribute of pulling a man thrown into despair to a world
where he has only and only op mism and mirth. We all must recognise that spark of posi vity
shining within us.
OMK organized a celebra on of Deepawali on 24.10.2019 at the Sharda Auditorium. The func on
started off with a melodious band performance by the students. A small Ramayana act was also
enacted by them. The skit was performed with so much precision and realism that it actually did not
seem like an act. The hall reverberated with the clapping of the spectators. The func on ended with
