Accept my profound gratitude and greetings!

Baruti K. Kafele had well said that the Principal is the rudder of the ship steering, providing
right direction and leadership guidance.

Open Minds has grown tremendously over the years and we ﬁrmly accredit that this year
as well, we will continue providing a positive, safe and didactic aura ensuring the multi-
directional growth of the children.

Creating such an environment that will serve the purpose of motivating students to learn
and achieve to the best of their abilities and simultaneously push to the greatest of
potentials is our apex motive.

Our team can vouch that we prepare and train students to become intellectually aware
citizens, critical thinkers,environment lovers and sensitive human beings.Also one
important attribute that we try to inculcate is to set their fears aside so that they can
transmute themselves into self-assured beings.

I look forward to your support and cooperation in academic expansion of our future

Learning never comes to a halt. Life has lessons to offer at every twist and turn.
These lessons may have numerous faces but all of them intend to bring about
development and progression.

Everyone who is associated to OMK staunchly admits that in order to walk with time, one needs
to continually work on his/her betterment. So, OMK conducts various training and grooming
sessions for all its stake holders time and again. The most recent one was for the Academic
Pillars of OMK (the teachers). A two day training session on Classroom Integrity and
Health was organised by Team BEL, Mumbai on 21.06.2019 and 22.06.2019. The
major highlight of the session was to give a wider and clearer prospect of Integrity and Health in
context to classroom scenario. The session was proved to be very interactive and the teachers
got a lot to add to their knowledge. It was just a phenomenal experience.

OMK has a new dimension to deﬁne now. It has been ever ready to mark new
laurels in the Secondary Examinations but today it is all bucked up to let sway
its colours even in the Senior Secondary Examinations.
It had been intently waiting to welcome the ﬁrm, sturdy and determined steps of Grade 11
students.

Finally the day arrived!

It was the moment of pure rejoices when the ﬁrst batch of Grade 11 announced the arrival at the
premises of OMK on 08.07.2019. Their conﬁdent and envisioned look helped us foresee
their upcoming success stories. We wish them good luck for all their future ventures and pursuits.

When experience meets passion, what grows is excellence.

Under the profound and envisioned guidance of our H/PE Department, the blooming kids
took our OMK a step ahead in making glory a constant partner. The junior Kabaddi Team
participated in the quarter ﬁnals of world renowned Kabaddi Tournament, PRO KABADDI
(Junior Division)organised at Pataliputra Sports Complex, Patna on
16.07.2019. The young sports persons returned as victors after securing their place in the
tournament and now they will be playing in the main event. Their unbeatable performance in
the Pro Kabaddi Junior League receives our praise and honour.

PLANTATION DAY CELEBRATION

It is very essential to provide the values and ethics to children from the very young age so that as
they grow in age, they grow by mind. We all know how important it is to have the green cover.
To instill the imperativeness of plantation among the K2 kids, the Plantation Day was
celebrated on 19.07.2019 in the school campus. The kids brought beautiful saplings along
with them which they planted all around the premises. The excitement and happiness that was
seen on the faces of the children was just impossible to describe.

SAPLINGS SOWN! A HOPE SOWN!

Every nation is moving head-on towards globalization and
modernization. But it cannot be denied that the root which is helping
it ﬂourish and prosper is its culture and tradition. Culture is the soul of
a nation, it speaks its identity; it is the reason of one's existence. In
context to our nation, it is the cultural diversity that has helped India
establish itself as the best example signifying 'unity is diversity'.

A Cultural Extravaganza was organized on 26.07.2019 for Grade K2 in
the school premises. The young preschoolers were dressed in attires marking the
identity of speciﬁc Indian states. A Fancy Dress Competition was also
organized for the kids. It was a gala time for them as they had a great fun time.

HOW DO WE LOOK?

INTER HOUSE TOURNAMENTS

Intellectualism doesn't only come from academics but also from activities.
Where academics prepare youth for various ﬁeld tests, activities go for life
tests. Activities help build the feelings of brotherhood, unity and leadership
which are equally important for getting the pupils ready for LIFE.

Here at OMK, activities run hand in hand with academics as we aptly believe that both should
be present in equal proportion so that the versatility in students is engrafted. The month of July
has witnessed numerous Inter House tournaments of Table Tennis, Carom Board and Chess. Full-
ﬂedged participation across the grades was noticed. The principle of 'FAIR PLAY' could be
seen in practice. The students strived hard to surface them as winners and they had a great time
being the part and parcel of these events.

THE CHESS WIZARDS

No one is a born leader; one becomes a leader in
due course of time. The job of a leader is not to
lead but to guide and walk parallel to its crew.
His duty is to credit the win to his team members
and debit on himself the pain of the loss. A true
leader is an ardent visionary who guardians his
troop to make way to victory.
Open Minds has a belief that students must be inculcated
with the leadership skills from the very young age so that
they become strong decision makers and able citizens of
the nation. So, like every year, this year also, THE OPEN
MINDS OFFICE BEARERS ELECTIONS was conducted
on 31.07.2019 for various posts.
Before the ﬁnal showdown that happened on the 31st of
July, the candidates who were nominated had to undergo
a  series  of  hurdles  like  Class  Teachers'  Feedback,
Interviews  etc.  The  selected  students  after  the  screening
tests  moved  for  their  campaigning  sessions  throughout
Grades 6 to 11 trying to make their candidature worth.
Though, the elections are conducted every year, the charm
of  this  year's  elections  was  entirely  distinct.  Taking  the
manner  of  casting  votes  par  excellence,  the  system  of
ONLINE VOTING was implemented. The idea of this new
implementation was brought down to reality by our expert
IT  Team  under  the  envisioned  guide  and  programmer,
Ashwin  Raj  Singh  who  at  just  the  tender  age  of  13
years made this dream transform into existence.
In  just  2  to  3  hours,  around  1500  students  across
Grades 6 to 11 casted their precious votes in favour of
their most suitable nominees. In the meantime, while the
process of voting was continuing, the nominees could see
the live feedsof the elections results. With throbbing hearts
and  stunned  eyes,  all  stared  at  the  projector  screen,
praying for the victory of their favourite candidates. The
results  were  declared  by  our  Honourable  Principal  that
very day.
To be true to our words, it was no less than a festival for all
at  OMK.  Everyone  went  crazy  on  glimpsing  this  unique
event.
